Elizabeth II 1981 25 Pence Royal Wedding Commemorative Crown Coin. Reference: Spink 4229.
The 1981 crown coin was struck to commemorate the wedding of The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer on 29 July 1981 at St Paul's Cathedral. The coin was struck in cupro-nickel with a reverse design by Philip Nathan. Also minted was a specimen in a presentation folder and a silver proof of which 218,142.
The obverse of the 1981 twenty five pence Royal Wedding Commemorative crown coin shows the second decimal portrait of the queen facing right by Arnold Machin. The inscription around the portrait reads: ELIZABETH II D·G·REG·F·D·
The reverse of the 1981 twenty five pence Royal Wedding Commemorative crown coin was designed by Philip Nathan and bears the inscription: H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES AND LADY DIANA SPENCER 1981. The inscription surrounds conjoined profile portraits of The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer.
The edge of the coin is milled.
